Known for its welcoming membership, family-focused atmosphere and tradition of hospitality, Northwood has served generations of members as a place to gather, compete, dine, celebrate and feel at home.
More Than a Golf Club
While the Club’s golf history remains an important part of its identity, Northwood’s broader legacy is found in the families, friendships, traditions and everyday experiences that continue to shape the member community.

Championship Legacy
Featuring a championship golf course originally designed by Bill Diddel, Northwood became the youngest U.S. Open venue in history when it hosted the championship in 1952.
Historic Championship Moment
That year, Julius Boros, World Golf Hall of Fame member and three-time major champion, held off Ben Hogan in Hogan’s quest to win three consecutive U.S. Open titles.
Historic Recognition
In 2015, the course was added to the Texas Registry of Historic Courses by the Texas Golf Hall of Fame, securing Northwood’s place among the most historically significant clubs in Texas.
Thoughtful Restoration
Restored in 2017 by architect Tripp Davis, the course features restored bunkers, greens and tees that reflect original Diddel characteristics while challenging golfers of all abilities.
Natural Setting
Lush fairways sprawl across 175 acres, winding through a valley of gently rolling hills and towering trees with dramatic vistas of White Rock Creek.
Growing the Game
Added in the fall of 2017, the four-hole short course provides a welcoming environment to learn the game and work on scoring shots around the green.
